Since 1999 our tugs have been based on the English south coast, operating both around the UK and abroad.  We currently operate from our base in Poole.

Griffin Towage and Marine specialises in sea towage of barges and ships, both on routine contracts, and emergency towage.

We also offer competitive prices for charters of our tugs for marine civil engineering operations, surveys, diving and other workboat duties.

Our tugs are British owned and registered. They are certified under UK MCA Small Commercial Vessel Codes.  They also comply with MCA Class IX as seagoing tugs.

We operate with British crew experienced in the business of towage, ensuring safe delivery of the towed vessel.

By using Griffin Towage & Marine for a tow you will benefit from dealing with a relatively small operator, with costs and prices lower than many competitors, and a more personal service, with care being taken over every detail.

Tug "Kingston"

We have been running Kingston since 2001, and have invested substantially in refitting and modernising her.  Included in the modernisation program has been the addition of a Kort Nozzle and new high performance propeller, which has significantly increased the tug's bollard pull.  Also included has been the addition of a large Bow Thruster and Shilling Rudder, hugely improving her manoeuvrability.

Tug "Princeton"

Princeton has been a valuable asset to our fleet since she joined us.  She is a good heavy sea going tug, with a single screw in steerable Kort nozzle, well suited to longer coastal towage.

Tug "Knighton"

Knighton is currently the smallest tug in our fleet. She is particularly suitable for light coastal or harbour towage, or general workboat duties for marine civil engineering support, and benefits from having shallower draught and lesser fuel consumption than our larger tugs.

Tug "Goliath"

Goliath, although a very competent sea going tug, is particularly well suited to harbour towage, marine civil engineering and barge handling due to her superb manoeuvrability. She is a twin screw tug with a large bowthruster, making her capable of manoeuvring in any direction.
